Christmas Tablescape 2020

Welcome and Merry Christmas! The table is set and ready for the feast! My husband is the gourmet around here and does he ever show off his talents on Christmas Eve! This year is his traditional prime rib, oven roasted root vegetables and pumpkin roll for dessert!

This year I decorated in mostly white and metallics with a little pop of red here and there.

I made this amazing, very large candle holder using a 2” x 4” pine lumber. Mine is 5’ long because of the length of my table, but you can make it any length you like. I drilled 7/8” holes half way through the board to accommodate the taper candle. Since mine holds 20 candles, I thought best to use battery operated candles.

I painted the 2” x 4” a dark green and added greenery, pinecones and mercury-glass ball ornaments to dress it up and hide the wood board.

I folded my napkins in a bow shape and used the napkin ring in the middle to hold it together. I just love Pinterest!!!

I used plastic snowflakes glued to a donut-shaped piece of cardboard. If you saw my fall “DIY A Fall Leaf Charger,” it’s basically the same principle.

My footed dessert plate is made from a taper candle holder and a round glass pillar candle dish. I glued them together using E6000 glue. Now if I can only find mini cloche dome lids to fit! 😊

I really like my seashell dinner plates. I use them for every holiday and put seasonal dishes with them to fit every occasion! Win-win!

Every year I make our guests a table favor to take home to remember our special night. This year, I made JOY ornaments for everyone (using a snowflake as the “O”)! 😊

However you decorate your table this Christmas, with fine china or Grinch paper plates, it’s knowing that you made it through a very tough year with the people that you love.

Hi, I’m Danielle!

I am the designer, writer and diy’er behind this blog. I enjoy decorating my home for practically nothing by doing most of the work myself, finding new and imaginative ways to make it beautiful and by watching for killer sales. I find humor almost anywhere and can laugh at myself through it all. I have learned that most projects don’t go exactly as intended, but can be more beautiful than the original plan.
