But it’s not just the natural beauty that makes this route special.
It’s the homes, lovingly decorated by folks who embrace the season with heart and creativity.
And if you’re really lucky, you might come across a standout gem of a home, completely decked out in her Halloween finest.
We’re talking whimsical pumpkins, friendly ghosts, autumn wreaths, and all the cozy-spooky charm that makes you want to pull over and soak it in.
This particular home doesn’t just celebrate fall—it wears it with pride.
Out front, you’ll meet Lori, the lovely lady behind it all.
She’s got a smile as warm as a mug of mulled cider and a passion for seasonal décor that shines from curb to porch.
Lori puts her heart into every pumpkin, garland, and cobweb—and it shows.
Lori has been collecting Halloween décor since the late 70’s.
Flea markets, antique stores, garage sales as well as gifts from friends is how she acquired many of her pieces.
Among her collection are three Dennison pieces that belonged to her grandparents from the 1930’s.
She says her mom’s handwriting is on the back of the pieces. 😊
Lori says that it takes her several days to decorate her home and yard.
“I take my time; I enjoy it so much.”
“We have 300+ trick or treaters, so we make sure the outdoor decorations are fun, but not too scary.”
“I had one mother tell me she takes a picture of her kids every year in front of the cemetery.
Which makes the effort worthwhile.
But I must admit my inner monologue said, you do what?
I was touched, but I did have to giggle later” states Lori.
