Lately, I have been seeing these cute little paperback books all over Pinterest and my favorite DIY blogs. You see, I love all things cozy, and these really speak to me, especially in a guest bedroom or a reading nook.
Now, since I do not have paperback books in my home, I made mine out of scrap wood. Any time I use any of my prize scrap wood collection, my husband jumps for joy because it gives him a little extra room in the garage when getting out of his car. Ha!
For this project I used:
3 pieces of 1” x 8” lumber cut 8” long
Apple Barrel Matte White Acrylic Paint
1” Foam Brush
Letter Stickers
Buffalo Check Ribbon or ribbon of your choice
I bought my stickers and ribbon at Hobby Lobby and my paint and foam brushes at Walmart.
I painted the top and 4 sides of each board with 3 coats of the white paint letting each coat dry in between (I didn’t feel the need to paint the underside of my boards but do what makes your heart happy) 😊.
The beauty of this project is that you can personalize them however you wish. These are going to be part of my Fall décor, but I am planning to put words on the other side for Christmastime. I will probably use red stickers and put a sprig of greenery on the ribbon.
So here she is sitting pretty on my plant stand! I love how this sweet little stack of books turned out! If you decide to make this project, shoot me a pic in the comments below. I would love to see your own spin it!
