Are you one of those last-minute decorators like me? Oh sure, I have tons of holiday decorations displayed proudly in my home, but I am never quite…done, ya know? I am always looking for more. You might say I am a borderline “over” decorator.
One way to up your holiday decorating game is by using free printables. There are printables available for every occasion out there! Just log into the Pinterest website and type free printables in the search bar. I found this Pledge of Allegiance printable here.
I absolutely LOVE it!
You can see how to make the patriotic medallions here.
Another way to decorate for the season is to use stuff you already have. Paint stir sticks and bits of denim and a few star buttons and voila – an American flag. You can watch the video here.
Last year I made this really sweet Home of the Free Because of the Brave sign. All it took was a wooden disc, a little paint and some ribbon.
If you have a smaller wood blank or maybe a smaller canvas, you can make this USA sign. I used scrapbook paper for the background, wooden USA letters and a small cut out of the continental US for a little interest.
One of the BEST decorations I have made for Independence Day is this sweet set of fire crackers using toilet paper tubes, scrapbook paper, bits of ribbon and a wooden star.
You don’t have to spend a bunch of money to decorate your home for the 4th of July. Homemade items add interest as well as sentiment. Make some snacks and get a group of ladies together or grab your kids and have a “make your own” holiday decorating party!
I hope you enjoyed this post on last minute 4th of July decorations and that it sparks inspiration for you to have fun with your family during this summer holiday.
