Our Time in Asheville North Carolina

Hi, everybody! My husband, John and I are currently on vacation to celebrate his 60th birthday. Our Time in Asheville North Carolina has been nothing short of spectacular!

You may remember I turned 60 last February and was able to celebrate at Disney in Orlando, Florida (my happy place). The mountains are where my husband loves to be and so, this is where he wanted to celebrate his big milestone.

Wednesday we went to the Biltmore estate. It is truly a grand home with beautiful architecture that sits on 8 thousand acres of woods, immense flower gardens and incredible landscapes that actually made me cry when I saw it all! A few years back, my husband and I took a trip to Toronto Canada. There we toured the Casa Loma castle. It was so lovely to see such a castle, but it does not compare to the Biltmore estate. Casa Loma is approximately 65,000 square feet compared to the 157,000 square feet of the Biltmore. To find out more about the Biltmore click here. I took over 120 photos of this place!

Now, John, my husband, is the most giving man I have ever known, and in true fashion, he surprised me with an amazing gift (on his birthday trip). Our rental car happened to be my dream car. I have always wanted a Jeep Wrangler 4 door. I can tell y’all, driving this beauty was definitely a pleasure! Eeeeeeee! I love that man so much!

Yesterday, we climbed the tallest mountain this side of the Mississippi River (and by “climbed” I meant we drove Ha-ha!). Mount Mitchell, known in Cherokee as Attakulla, is the highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains and the highest peak in mainland eastern North America. It is 6,684 feet or 2,037 miles high above sea level. It was a “balmy” 64˚at the top! SO refreshing! I think I took 100 or more pictures of the same scenery. It is so gorgeous, y’all!

Today, we are planning to walk around the River Arts District. According to Google, “The River Arts District, or RAD, is a creative hub along the French Broad River. Former warehouses and mills, many with colorful exterior murals, contain glassblowing, pottery, and other artisan studios, plus indie art galleries. The buzzing dining and nightlife scene encompasses hip cafes, BBQ restaurants, craft breweries, and cozy, chilled-out music venues like the long-running Grey Eagle”. That Google chick knows everything! Ha-ha! 🤣

I will have to let you know how this day turns out. All in all, Our Time in Asheville North Carolina has been a great!

Until then, Have an amazing day!

Hi, I’m Danielle!

I am the designer, writer and diy’er behind this blog. I enjoy decorating my home for practically nothing by doing most of the work myself, finding new and imaginative ways to make it beautiful and by watching for killer sales. I find humor almost anywhere and can laugh at myself through it all. I have learned that most projects don’t go exactly as intended, but can be more beautiful than the original plan.
